GENERAL GUIDELINES THAT SHOULD BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES
-
The readings of the Mass are always to be proclaimed from the Lectionary and not from leaflets, loose pages, nuptial booklets and the like.
-
The Prayers of the Faithful should be brief.
-
For the Offertory, especially during Nuptial Masses, only bread and wine and gifts for the poor like grain, articles are to be offered. Symbolic gifts like flowers, religious articles, fruit baskets, thermocole cutouts ar not allowed.
-
Communion hymn to be sung while the faithful receive Communion, after which silence is to be observed.
-
If one received Communion at the morning mass, then one cannot receive Communion again at the evening mass or other masses during the day. One can receive Communion again only if the person is participating in a funeral / nuptial mass.
-
People participation in the Eucharist is by joining in the prayers and singing. Here the choir must involve the faithful in the singing especially during community masses.
-
There is no need of an additional prayer of Thanksgiving.
-
For funerals only one tribute, preferably a family member/close friend is permitted and should be brief.
