He is a very active priest, highly talented in sports, singing, and very creative in artwork. His first parish was St. Pius X Church in Mulund, followed by Good Shepherd Church in Andheri, Holy Name Cathedral in Colaba, St. Jude in Malad East, St. Thomas Church in Goregaon East, and Sacred Heart Church in Vashi. He is an alumnus of Don Bosco School in Andheri and Lonavala and graduated with a degree in Commerce. He is a priest who loves to sing and smiles during Mass. He is very approachable and serves as a pastoral priest.

He is an alumnus of St. Xavier's High School (Fort) and St. Xavier's College. Having grown up in the area, he understands the parishioners' attitudes, approaches, and mindsets, which helps him optimize tasks. His interactions with the youth have encouraged them to be active in the Church. Fr. Lester's homilies are based on the Word of God and are very inspiring, motivating, and thought-provoking. He is a jolly soul, loves music, and enjoys a well-cooked meal.

Fr. Cherian was born into a devout family in Kerala. From a young age, he was a dedicated churchgoer. Feeling a profound calling to continue God’s unfinished mission, Fr. Cherian's heart was filled with zeal and compassion. He left behind everything to follow this divine calling and joined the Diocese of Balasore, Odisha. He works as a missionary priest among the poor. In his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball and table tennis, and he loves reading. Currently, he is pursuing his Master’s degree in Social Work from Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work in Churchgate, Mumbai.

He was ordained as a permanent Deacon on 18th April 2015 by His Eminence Cardinal Oswald Gracias, along with Deacon Everest and Deacon Ivan. Before being posted at Our Lady of Dolours Parish, he served for his weekend ministry at Good Shepherd Church, 4 Bungalows, Andheri West, where he spent over nine years animating SCC communities, the Legion of Mary (English, Konkani, youth), Charismatic Renewal (English and Konkani), and the Bible cell. He preaches the Sunday homily (in English and Konkani), teaches at retreats, and conducts Bible classes at the parish as well as at the Catholic Bible Institute in Bandra.
He expresses that he is enjoying his ministry as a Deacon and plans to continue doing so by God's grace, love, and the cooperation of the wonderful people of Our Lady of Dolours Parish.
